Extra Opps from the Sheriff, Weeeee

Payu2blog is better compared to other paid blogging services I have previously signed up for. I've been with them for around 3 months already, and assignments are doing well by far. It's a good and easy way to earn money online. Okay lang kahit 2 assignments lang most of the time. That is still 10USD! :) But last week, I was surprised when I noticed something new on my dashboard...

There were stars on my dashboard which are not usually there. Assuming that they were urgent opps, I immediately clicked on a link. I was very surprised with what I read:

The sheriff is looking out for you. You have been given an extra assignment.
Thanks for all your hard work

Oh, joy! Naawa na si sheriff sa akin because I only have one blog registered under them. To please google the world 'olats'

If you want to join Payu2blog, you may want to read these tips first.

Anyway, thanks a lot sheriff for the extra assignments! I wish you'll send me more this week! <3

7101 Music Nation Launches National Search for Songwriters

Dumaguete is known for its breathtaking beaches and seemingly endless supply of seafood and dessert delights. But what attracts the eager traveler—and what defines the gentle people of the city—is the idyllic lifestyle and the brimming creative atmosphere that embraces this quaint city.

Now imagine spending five days in the city together with the best of best in the OPM scene, along with fellow songwriters who have the same dream of learning the craft of songwriting and making it big in the industry.

This year, 7101 Music Nation brings The 1st Elements National Songwriting Camp to the shores of Dumaguete. Here, aspiring songwriters will have the chance to enhance their talents and learn from the masters while enjoying Dumaguete’s famous cityscape as the venue and source of inspiration for their music.

Whether it’s by a neat campfire in the pools of Bahura Resort or a field workshop amid the rain forests at Lake Balanan, Elements aims to create a unique experience that combines fun and education with something that everyone loves—music.

The first of its kind, Elements is an annual songwriting camp for aspiring and professional songwriters. For its maiden voyage, artists of different genres and disciplines and aspiring composers will be treated to an out-of-the-classroom mentorship from November 14 to 18, all expenses paid.

Vampires Suck Movie Photos, LOL!

Oh, internetz!

Twilight Saga movies suck that much so guys from 20th Century Fox has come up with a parody, "Vampires Suck" The movie is directed by spoof experts Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the same ones who brought us "Meet the Spartans" and "Disaster Movie"

The trailer is actually hilarious and I hope the entire thing would leave up to its promise. The characters really look like the original cast. I literally LMAO-ed after watching this on youtube! Anyway, these are some screen caps from the movie. The one who played Jacob is kinda hot too!

This movie will open on September 1, 2010 here in Manila. Here are the international release dates for Vampires Suck:

SM Hypermarket: Another “first” rises in Adriatico

Long-time Manila residents remember M. Adriatico Street in Malate not just for its array of restaurants, cafes, clubs, bars, and discos, but also as the address of some of the city’s famous destinations such as the Manila Zoo, the Rizal Memorial (now Ninoy Aquino) Sports Complex, and Harrison Plaza.
These establishments were considered landmarks because they shared a unique attribute – being “first” – with the Manila Zoo as the country’s premiere zoological park, the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex as the country’s first sports stadium and the Harrison Plaza as Manila’s first enclosed and fully air-conditioned shopping mall.

Recently, another landmark destination with a unique “first” opened along Adriatico to lure residents, shoppers, tourists, and Malate habitués to the famous street.

SM Hypermarket Adriatico, located beside Harrison Plaza, promises to bring a new face to Adriatico as it boasts of a “first” in SM Hypermarket history – a never-before-seen modern and vibrant façade designed by award-winning US-based architectural firm DSGN.

Catch Walt Disney's "Sorcerer's Apprentice" in SM Cinemas

“I love the world of magic, and to be able to bring that to a contemporary audience through `The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ was really appealing to me,” says Jerry Bruckheimer, legendary producer of such blockbuster franchises as “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “National Treasure.”

“I’ve always liked stories that have a magical element, and this film is one of the great magical stories of all time,” he adds. “We thought it would be tremendously exciting to develop the core of that concept into a brand-new story set in the modern world.”

From Walt Disney Studios, Bruckheimer and director Jon Turteltaub comes “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”—an innovative and epic adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

We're Turning Five!!!

I love you Sabado <3

BSA Suites Hotel Makati

It was a long weekend and we wanted an epic long weekend beach vacation somewhere in Batangas.

[Insert lulz story here.]

Then we ended up in a hotel room in Makati with a rooftop pool because of [insert lulz reasons here].

Browsing Agoda's online hotel reservation system, I chanced upon BSA Suites Hotel Makati. It was reasonably priced, near Greenbelt, and, as mentioned, has a rooftop pool. Astoria Plaza would've been waaaaaay better if only there were not fully booked that weekend. But then, we don't need fancy rooms because we'll all end up drunk anyway. All we want is a decent place to cook bacon/spam/eggs, drink, swim, and sleep. Quick tip: book via Agoda if you need cheap hotel accommodations. A studio room in BSA Suites starts at USD65, but we got our room for only USD45!

zomg eggs

BSA Suites is rather easy to find. Just along Palanca st., there's a bar named Toyz at the first floor and a Ministop convenience store across the building. Mercury Drugstore, KFC, Chowking, and Jollibee are also within walking distance. BSA don't serve breakfast, or any food for that matter, so having these stores nearby proves to be very helpful.

Check-in was a breeze. I just showed my printed Agoda voucher, signed some papers, and was finally handed our room key card. Within minutes, we were inside our spacious room. Of course, the first thing I checked was the kitchenette. There's a fridge, microwave oven, electric stove, water heater, rice cooker, plus several plates, pans, and utensils. Oh yey, our spam/bacon/egg breakfast will go just as planned!

I'm the one checking the fridge, haha

Tequila, Gin, Bacardi, and Ketchup not included

We already managed to trash the room. Nice.

At night, we had dinner and drinks by the rooftop pool. Surprisingly, the whole area was clean and there's a cctv camera so security guards could watch nubile girls in skimpy swimsuits for the guests' safety. We also have a kick-ass view of Makati-at-night, perfect for some bokeh <3

Afternoon Tea at Erawan Tea Room Bangkok

If you're in Thailand for a vacation, I strongly encourage you to drop by Erawan Tea Room by Grand Hyatt Bangkok. My friends and I visited the place during our recent trip and we loved EVERYTHING about it!

We came in around 3pm...just in time for the Afternoon Tea Set or High Tea.

Afternoon Tea Menu

Erawan Tea Room is owned by Grand Hyatt Hotel. However, the restaurant is located in the 2nd level of Erawan Bangkok--a boutique mall which houses luxury brands such as Burberry, Coach, Issey Miyake, among others.

Inside, the place is spacious and gives off a cozy atmosphere. Guests may opt to sit in beautiful wooden chairs or soft velvet couches. There weren't too many people when we came in. Not sure if that's usual, but we enjoyed having the place *almost* to ourselves.

Cha, Nix, and I

Drinks are inclusive the set and you may choose between tea, coffee, or juice. We got iced coffee (cappuccino and latte) to go with our meal as we're not the tea-drinking types. Meh.

Our drinks came with a small bottle of simple syrup, allowing us to adjust the sweetness of our coffee. By the way, the glasses were so huge that it could pass for a venti!

Our food were finally served and our reaction was, "WOW." Satays, dumplings, spring rolls, chocolates, jams, and fresh fruits were beautifully arranged in lotus designed plates. Seems rather "heavy" for an afternoon snack.
